Dr. Brigitte Leeners

Director, Clinic for Reproductive Endocrinology, University Hospital Zurich

Dr. med. Brigitte Leeners is the director of the Clinic for Reproductive Endocrinology at the University Hospital Zurich. Prof. Brigitte Leeners studied medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, where she obtained her doctorate in 1995. In 1999 she acquired the additional qualification in psychotherapy from the North Rhine Medical Association and devoted herself to further training (sexual medicine and therapy, German Society for Sexual Research; body therapy, DITAT Bonn). In 2002 she received the title of specialist in gynecology and obstetrics from the North Rhine Medical Association and, after the title was recognized by the BAG, the title of FMH specialist in gynecology. In 2007 Brigitte Leeners completed her habilitation in gynecology and obstetrics at RWTH Aachen University (re-habilitation at the University of Zurich 2012).

The main research areas of Prof. Dr. Brigitte Leeners lies in increasing the success rates of fertility treatments, in the development and use of biomathematic models to simulate the female cycle, and in the improved quality of life in endometriosis.

Prof. Dr. Brigitte Leeners is a member of the editorial board of two leading endocrinological journals (Science Reports and Frontiers in Endocrinology) and works as a reviewer for numerous specialist journals and for research funding applications to the Swiss Cancer League.
